Re: Finding Myself at My Sewing Machine
A note to finding myself at the Sewing Machine. Several years later and we are retired. People who knew I am a seamstress have given me a variety of sewing machines and servers usually when a family member passed away and the kids were cleaning out the houses. I have been blessed to be able to give ...

I don't remember it well but there was a college in the midwest that used some of Russell's stories to study living in a small town. When Russell's site crashed in the late 90s I also had his stories that he thought were lost and gone forever. I repeatedly told Russell that he wrote my stories and o...

I worked at the paper and use to get a kick out of how important it was to some people for everyone to know each move they made. You couldn't fart in Hamlet without half the town knowing about it.
Now days people read these (if they still print them) to see who is in and who is out of town.

I went to work at The Hamlet News Messenger in 1962. Many times I had trouble finding a parking place. There was a meter maid named Carolyn and she gave me a 25 cent parking ticket everyday. It was cheaper than feeding the meters. I did the mailing labels for the News Messenger in the old theatre (w...
