No doubt that nursing students at Hamlet were well trained.I remember seeing the students walking to the hospital from their residence wearing their capes.

Re: John Brittingham - Hamlet

I also remember Pinecroft as a wonderful place to live. We would wander from one yard to another all day. We could ride our bikes in the street with baseball cards attached to the spokes in the wheel. That was so much fun!!! I still remember all of our neighbors lived in the same houses for many man...

Re: Hamlet Ice Storm 1969

I remember this storm very well. People in Hamlet, who used their fireplaces as a place to hang Christmas stockings once a year, were suddenly building fires for the first time. I spent several nights at Jenny Wright's house. There were at least 4 or 5 more of Jenny's friends there also. We actually ...

Caldwell was ruthless. His wife was very brave to wear a wire. She should have turned him in long before though. At least, she appeared to have a little piece of heart left in her......perhaps. I googled Bobbie Caldwell and found that a person with that name recently died in Concord NC. Think it was...

Somewhere I read earlier that Maceo received call at work from his Mom to come home. Maceo told coworkers that he had to leave and go check on her because she was ill. Was his Mom forced to make that call by her killer? She was a beautiful, sweet lady. Heartbreaking story.

Boyd's Lake

I cannot imagine anyone swimming at Boyd's Lake at night. Every time I swam out to that diving board I felt like there were water snakes all over the place. I know they lived under that platform. Regardless of all that, I think Boyd's Lake was one of my favorite places in Hamlet. I loved that place....

I was only 5 years old when this happened, but I do remember that the town of Hamlet was quite upset. How was the timeline explained though? How could Wetzel drive from Ellerbe to Sanford in such a short amount of time? Thoughts?
