I gave my money when I was at Fairview Heights. I remember going on a field trip there. It hadn't been there long because there were parts of the ship that we couldn't enter yet.

Worked with Tony back in the 80's when we all worked with McCarter Electric in Laurinburg. RIP big guy, you've left examples of your work all over NC. Ben "Sigmore" Fetner. I see one of our fellow workers, the Rev June Grant is officiating.

I was in Monroe and got stuck at my girlfriends house!! Oh the horror. When I finally did get home, we lived on Boyd Lake Road back in the woods. Our pole was the last one on that line. We did have a fireplace to cook in and a pond so we could flush the toilets. Me and cousin Ricky (RIP) rented a ch...

All the fun was on the east side. I had plum forgotten bout that phone booth on the Hi-Way side. 35 cent for a cold brew delivered to your vehicle and all you had to do is beep the horn and then flash the lights and help was on the way.

I concur with that Freddie. I just had my lakes messed up. Been quite a while since I've cruised them roads. When they got bumpy there was a sweet spot you could hit and the bumps would smooth out. It was right on the edge of disaster, but it was lots of fun.

Pretty sure you had to take a right off of Boyd Lake Road where it changed to dirt and go for a little ways and the lake was on the right. It was sad when the next generation started making it their dump, sad.

The Hub Grill and Sarge's were the go joint to drink beer, eat and cry over the juke box. I remember when the Hub Grill got in a juke box that showed a film of girls dancing to the music. I think the "Hanky Panky" song was the favorite one for awhile.
