All the fun was on the east side. I had plum forgotten bout that phone booth on the Hi-Way side. 35 cent for a cold brew delivered to your vehicle and all you had to do is beep the horn and then flash the lights and help was on the way.

I concur with that Freddie. I just had my lakes messed up. Been quite a while since I've cruised them roads. When they got bumpy there was a sweet spot you could hit and the bumps would smooth out. It was right on the edge of disaster, but it was lots of fun.

Pretty sure you had to take a right off of Boyd Lake Road where it changed to dirt and go for a little ways and the lake was on the right. It was sad when the next generation started making it their dump, sad.

I remember it back then when the feed and seed place was right beside it too. I don't remember how old I was but I think my uncle, Mike Campbell took me in there a couple of times. I remember also when it was probably the only pool room with no pool tables.

Yepper, I remember that place well. Lived right across the street from it in that duplex for awhile. Was playing kick ball there one weekend and my shoe flew off my footie and went through the Principal's office window. Mama had to call him to open up so I could get my shoe and fess up.

I remember quite a few of them folks. Mr Carnes loved the Miller beers, but only on the weekend. I think he really got Sidney Hodges in going heavy into weight lifting. I remember them doing peanut oil shots at the Hub and it went right out the other end and left a greasy spot.

I use to go there while I was in High School so I could get on their wifi, or use one of their pooters to look up stuff on line. I think it helped me a lot toward my stellar grades in high school.

The Hub Grill and Sarge's were the go joint to drink beer, eat and cry over the juke box. I remember when the Hub Grill got in a juke box that showed a film of girls dancing to the music. I think the "Hanky Panky" song was the favorite one for awhile.

I remember those old Christmas lights that had garland and went from one side of the street to the other with the lantern in the middle of the street. Long time ago, still hanging around. Miss those old days when Christmas meant something.

I worked at that Hardees for a while. He put me to cooking, slicing maters and that roast beef they used to sell. Made a buck and a quarter an hour for the whole time I worked there. Told me one day that if I didn't get my hair cut not to come back to work. Started at Tom and Sarah's the next day.
