The caboose at the City Lake belongs to the city. If the city can,t repair it they should remove it like they wanted done with the one on Main St. because it looked so bad.

Turn on 5th street beside Fuller Gro. and it will be the 1st street on the left. It runs from 3rd st. to 5th st. The Esterlings, Wrights, Freemans, Burns and at one time McKeithans were the families that lived on it. All but one of the houses (Easterling) are still there.

The Y mentioned was called The Plametto Y. The Palmetto Y came off the East / Weet Main Line behind the Sanitay Laundry, crossed Main St. and connected to the North / South Main Line behind the Buttercup Plant. Could the picture have been taken from the top of the Sanitary Laundry?

Hamlet Hospital School of Nurseing Graduates Reunion.

The blue & white International Scout (2nd vehicle from left) belonged to Austin Dillehay. He and his wife who owned Austin's Auto repair still live on Stacy St. The city of Hamlet purchased to property from the Dillehay's to build the new City Hall and Austin closed his business and retired.

I saw a Mello Buttercup ice cream truck somewhere a couple of weeks ago. The sign on the door said Mello Buttercup New Bern N. C. Steve Rabb has a original Buttercup Ice Cream sign hanging in his ice cream shop on on Main St. I loaned it to him for a display.

Lynn, I also remember going to the gin with cotton. It was a busy place.
