It looks really nice restored but them boys on "Pickers" would have a fit about the loss of that patina look. Hamlet has a lot of history that most people don't even know about. It was a good time growing up there.

From what I hear the dam dam busted and never got repaired. I think it's popularity had waned quite a bit before that happened though.

I remember doing some late nite eating at the little grill they had on the backside of the train station. That little tunnel under the tracks was pretty cool too! I forgot what they called it, does anyone recall?

I was under 18. Finally turned 18, went to a technical school in Kentucky, had to be 21 to drink there. Dammit! You could buy a case of Buds in the bottle for less than 4 bucks after you paid the deposit on the case and the bottles.

I used to squirt grease in the bearing cups at the hump yard while my dad ate his supper. May not have been the hump yard though because sometimes I would have to wait for the train to slow to be able to hit every cup with the grease wand.

Don't stop there Veep, yer doin fine. I also remember hearing about boxing way back when. Spent lots of time with Ben sr at the old Midget and at the Hub Grill where all them guys hung out. The pool room and Club V always had a few of them jawing at the bar.
