Edvert Malloy, age 81 of Hamlet passed away to his Heavenly home on Sunday, March 11, 2018.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Bible Freewill Church of Worship officiated by Rev. Tommy Leviner, Rev. Marvin Hutchison and Rev. Jimmy Powers. Burial will follow in the Bible Freewill Church of Worship Cemetery.

Edvert was born on January 30, 1937 in Richmond County the son of the late Eddie Malloy and Mary Quick Malloy. He retired after many years from Springs Mills and his well repair business. Edvert served the Lord and was as a faithful member of Bible Freewill Church of Worship. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering on just about everything. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will forever be missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Norton Malloy; sisters, Ruby Edwards, Vonnie Suite and half sister, Emily Butler; half brother, Everett Malloy; grandchildren, Shannon Buchanan, Michael Buchanan, Lee Buchanan and John Buchanan.

Edvert leaves behind his loving wife of 22 years, Vera Thompson Malloy of the home; sons, James Malloy (Carolyn), Charles Malloy, Dean Malloy, all of Hamlet; daughter, Diane Buchanan of Hamlet; stepdaughter, Angela Arrington (Michael) of Laurinburg; brother, L.T. Malloy of Hamlet; eight grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15th, at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
