The tornado described in the above article was just one of a series of storms that struck Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina on a swath stretching from Alabama and exiting on the North Carolina coast. It was reported that more than 200 were killed and over 5000 homes destroyed. The following article is an extraction from the ANDERSON INTELLIGENCER, Anderson, S.C., Feb. 28, 1884.
