The Old Red Caboose

Post by dcrooke »

Does anyone know the name of this railroad man? Was he from Hamlet? This picture was made inside of a caboose on 12-28-52.
Searching for his name...Thanks

That's a real interesting picture. Can of something made by Heinz on the shelf. Can't be Bill Dennis, but it sure looks like the vittles weren't lacking in the ole boose though!!

I'm gonna say that is Mr. Lee. My guess is based on looking at the white hat with the Seaboard logo and the name LEE embroidered on it.

Bruce, I'm betting that the Lee name you reference is for the company that manufactured the product, as in the manufacturer of Lee jeans for instance.

Wonder if that caboose is now parked outside of the football stadium in Columbia?

So far there have been no solid clues. However, Garland Stutts, retired engineer from Hamlet thinks it may :?: be John McCormick from the Lilesville/Wadesboro area.

His name is John Fletcher Russell. He was the flagman on this trip when the picture was made.
