Fairview Heights 1954
Re: Fairview Heights 1954
Yepper, that's where I received my diploma from HHS! Used to live right across the street from there. Pretty handy walking to school.

Yep, that's where I received my certificate in spring 1952 for finishing up 8th grade. I wonder whatever happened to that certificate... or even if one was presented.

Got my certificate for finishing the 8 th grade during 1955. I lived on the opposite side on Madison so it was an easy walk.

Re: Fairview Heights 1954
When I started first grade at Fairview Heights, it had grades 1-8. But by the time I got to the sixth grade, the seventh and eighth grade classes had been moved to Hamlet Avenue/Hamlet High. So I did six years at Fairview Heights and six at Hamlet Avenue.

I remember having classes on the short side with the cafeteria at HHS. That library was where the infamous squirt gun battle was played out.
