I remember when the Dinette used to be the "Pink Platter." Cherry Cokes. Cokes with cherry syrup from the fountain. Way before 1966. Around 1957.

I worked at that Hardees for a while. He put me to cooking, slicing maters and that roast beef they used to sell. Made a buck and a quarter an hour for the whole time I worked there. Told me one day that if I didn't get my hair cut not to come back to work. Started at Tom and Sarah's the next day.
