My guess is that there was already an established area of Hamlet called Fairview Heights and the school was built within that area, hence Fairview Heights School. Sounds logical....

My thinking is along the same lines as yours Bruce, but although the school was named before my time,I just don't remember that area being called Fairview Heights. Pinecroft, Kinsmon Lake, Highland Pines, East Hamlet, Longwood Park, Boyd Lake, Outside Community, Hare town, Steen town, Little Baltimore, Springhill Community, Oak Ridge Community, North Yard, Airport Road, Green Pond, Henderson Lake, Battley Dairy, Foxport, Newton's Point---those are some I remember--I guess Fairview Heights area just got by me...

The property belonged to the Lackeys and was sold in 1942. There was a mentioned in the newspaper that the area was referred to as "Fairview Height" in dead and titling information as far back a 1924.
