In the Fall of '65, we were HHS Seniors sitting in Mrs. Lina Bauersfield's English class. The windows were open. Fall was in the air. The class was discussing the topic "symbolisms." Mrs. B asked the class, "would anyone like to illustrate an example of the topic?" Twin brother, Ronnie, raised his hand and said, "see the new water tank under construction?" From her class, one could view the tall crane over the tops of the surrounding pinetrees as it added steel to the new tank day-by-day. He said, "it is symbolic of the Amercian military (crane) raising the United States Flag (new tank) over the military victory at Iwo Jima on the Island of Guam." Mrs. B was very impressed.

I remember when the new water tank was under construction at a point a little earlier than the picture above. The crane was at the top of the big central cylinder that, in the picture, goes into the bottom of the tank. At that point the construction looked like a missile standing there.

Excellent! Did you claim credit for it later instead of Ronnie? LOL!
