it was located behind the Old Roundhouse and the overflow was next to Boyd Lake Road

It should still be there in the woods on the left between the VFW and the American Legion.

Wayne, do you remember when it would flare up from time to time and catch the woods on Fire :?: and the Hamlet Fire Dept. would go put it out That area would stay green all year.

Freddie, I remember it very well. Seems like the fire dept. went there every few days, gave them something to do instead of setting at the station.

I would say that it was more like coal cinders than a fine coal ash, It was stacked up in a bank about 8' tall[ surly it came from years of SAL RR dumping it there from the steam engines after :: a hard days work :lol: /b]
