Curious where you are entering Seqouia? My brother in law has a little vacation retreat on the Tule River in Springville. We have bèen up to Trail of Giants and Dome Rock.

Wayne, I have cousins who live in Tulare, not far from Springville, and that's where we stayed the night before and night after our hike. We entered Sequoia at the Ash Mountain entrance at Three Rivers. The start of our hike was just north of Giant Forest at Wolverton.

Just east of Springville(heading uphill), there's a trail down to Stevenson's Fall...I took the second one back in 2006.

That looks interesting, Wayne. I've never been there but I have been swimming in the Kaweah River near Three Rivers. On one of those summer days in the Valley that get up to 105 or so, swimming in water that was still snow the day before can be quite refreshing.
