on the last 10years ago in Hamlet dated thur. Sept.26,1946 the PvtD an Smith is my step Dad, he had broken both legs 7 days after the war was over with Germany and was at the Train Depot in Paris on the roof with his buddy exchanging contact info when he steeped on a Sky light and fell 40feet below into the lobby breaking both legs compound breaks, when he recovered he went back to work as a conductor at the old yard and worked there until they opened the new yard at yardB My Dad was one HELL OF A MAN 2 WORK just ask anyone who was in great shape how hard his job was, the railroad men called him Flat spot because of the way he walked my Step Dad was the only Dad I ever knew so he was my Daddy and a very good one I may add, even before he was my Dad he would take me and my brother fishing, go to the Clayhole and shoot his 22 rife, bought us season tickets to Boyd Lake ever year Take us to Brown's Pool Room on Front St. Married our Mom in Nov.1957 and she passed away Dec25,1958, we were having the best Christmas ever until we woke up Christmas morning and found her laying on the Dining room floor
