Re: The Dinette 1947
Are you sure this was 1947? I worked for Mr. Tuthill in 1948 and it was The Pink Platter. I later worked for Albert Dunn in the 50's and it was The Dinette.

I worked for Mr. Tuthill when the Dinette first opened in 1947. It was still the Dinette in 1950.
The Pink Platter came later. I never knew it to be the Dinette again.

Re: The Dinette 1947
Sorry don' t think we are talking about the same place, Ron Tuthill owned The Pink Patter (don't know who F.A. Tuthill was) when I worked there in 1948. When he left there he opened a supper club type restaurant way out on US one. Albert Dunn had The Dinette for several years in the early 50's He is gone but has three daughters that still live in Hamlet

Re: The Dinette 1947
F. A. Tuthill opened The Dinette in 1947, I was there. The Dinette is still listed in the
1950 Hamlet phone book. It became The Pink Platter later when Mr. Tuthill sold it
to open Hernando's Hideaway, a supper club on US 1. F. A. Tuthill is the father of
Ronnie Tuthill, born in 1943, who was a star football player at Rockingham High
and at the University of North Carolina.
