Boyd House Torned Down Monday July 5, 2010

The Boyd House in East Hamlet owned by Scott Waters is To Be Torn Down Monday morning. The city is going to fine him $50.00 a day until the house is torn down, begining this past Friday July 2, 2010.

It still saddens me. This is the first Christmas in 103 years the Boyd House isn't here.

This should never have been allowed to happen. Don't tear down your history, Hamlet! And don't re-muddle it into some ill conceived modern look and feel. It won't work. The history of Hamlet is a viable calling card that isn't limited to Main Street. Same with the Terminal Hotel, but I won't go there.

I AM IN AGREEMENT WITH YOU ON THAT ,JUST LIKE A LOT OF OTHER CITIZENS IN HAMLET. PUSH THE OLD OUT. ITS LIKE YHE LIBRARY.IT IS THE CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL CENTER OF HAMLET. LOOK NO LIGHTS. THE CHRISTMAS TREE NO LIGHTS.WHY?

Greg maybe you would like to help me next year decorate the tree and gazebo? I have the lights in hand. I put up the Santa and the blowup at city hall each year.
