Years ago, this phone number was the most called one in Hamlet, by a long shot. It rang almost constantly day and nite. The number was 582-1215. This one was quickly memorized by many as soon as they got it. Whose office number was it? Don't try it now though. There's no telling who you'll get.

You're right Malcolm. Before cell phones came on the scene we were tied to "Ma Bell's" umbilical cord. You came close Jim but not quite the answer I was looking for. I'll go to my grave remembering that crew clerk's number.
